Jalandhara Sends an Envoy to Kailāsa
The Provocation of Śiva
sanatkumāra uvāca | vadatyevaṃ tathā rāhau bhrūmadhyācchūlapāṇinaḥ | abhavatpuruṣo raudrastīvrāśanisamasvanaḥ
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
It shows Śiva as Pati—the supreme Lord—who can instantly manifest a saguna, awe-inspiring form from His own will to restrain hostile forces and re-establish order, reminding devotees that divine protection arises from the Lord’s sovereign consciousness.
Though the Liṅga represents Śiva’s transcendent reality, this verse highlights His saguna power to appear in a specific form (a ‘raudra puruṣa’) for divine action; Liṅga-worship thus includes devotion to Śiva’s protective and transformative manifestations.
Meditate on Śiva’s command center at the bhrūmadhya (between the brows) while mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—invoking the Lord’s Rudra-śakti for inner fearlessness and removal of obstructive tendencies.
