Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It shows that true sacred speech arises from Shiva-smaraṇa—first anchoring the mind in devotion to Śiva’s feet, then responding with wisdom; this aligns with the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on grace (anugraha) accessed through bhakti and remembrance.
Remembering “Śiva’s feet” indicates saguna-upāsanā: focusing on a holy form or symbol (such as the Liṅga) to steady the mind, so that teaching and understanding become acts of worship rather than mere discourse.
Practice smaraṇa before study or recitation—begin with mental prostration to Śiva, silently repeating a Śiva-mantra (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and dwelling on Śiva’s feet to purify intention and speech.
