संपीडनाय जगतो यदि स क्रियते तपः । सफलं तद्गतं वेद्यं तस्मात्सुविहितं तपः

Transliteration

saṃpīḍanāya jagato yadi sa kriyate tapaḥ | saphalaṃ tadgataṃ vedyaṃ tasmātsuvihitaṃ tapaḥ

Translation

หากบำเพ็ญตบะเพื่อกดขี่โลก ก็พึงเข้าใจว่า ‘ผล’ ย่อมอยู่ในเจตนาทำลายนั้นเอง; เพราะฉะนั้นตบะที่แท้ต้องตั้งไว้ให้ถูกต้อง ทำโดยธรรมและสอดคล้องกับบัญชาของพระศิวะ มิใช่ด้วยความโหดร้าย
