शिवतत्त्ववर्णनम् (Śiva-tattva-varṇana) — “Description/Exposition of the Principle of Śiva”

Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Sthala Purana: General revelation of pūjā-vidhi: Śiva bestows an auspicious worship-procedure to Brahmā and Viṣṇu; the ‘many fruits’ motif parallels tīrtha-māhātmya style but remains non-localized.
Significance: Frames ritual knowledge (pūjā-vidhi) as Śiva’s grace (anugraha): correct worship yields ‘phala’—from worldly welfare to spiritual ascent—because Śiva responds to devotion through regulated kriyā.
Role: teaching
Offering: naivedya
Cosmic Event: Transmission of sacred procedure at the dawn of cosmic administration.
The verse emphasizes that Śiva is the supreme bestower of grace, and that worship performed according to the divinely given puja-vidhi becomes a direct means for receiving varied fruits—ranging from worldly welfare to inner purification leading toward liberation.
By highlighting an authorized “procedure of worship,” the verse points to Saguna worship—such as Śiva’s worship in emblematic form (Liṅga) with prescribed offerings and reverence—through which Śambhu responds compassionately and grants appropriate results.
The takeaway is to follow a śubha (auspicious) Shiva-puja method as taught in the Purana—regular, disciplined worship supported by devotion (bhakti), purity, and remembrance of Śambhu—so that the practice becomes fruitful in multiple dimensions of life and sādhanā.
