नारदमोहवर्णनम् — Description of Nārada’s Delusion
यदि दास्यसि रूपं मे तदा तां प्राप्नुयां ध्रुवम् । त्वद्रूपं सा विना कंठे जयमालां न धास्यति
yadi dāsyasi rūpaṃ me tadā tāṃ prāpnuyāṃ dhruvam | tvadrūpaṃ sā vinā kaṃṭhe jayamālāṃ na dhāsyati
หากท่านประทานรูปของท่านแก่ข้า ข้าย่อมจักได้เธอโดยแน่นอน เพราะหากไร้รูปของท่าน นางจะไม่คล้องพวงมาลัยชัยลงที่คอของข้า.
Brahmā (in the Sṛṣṭi-khaṇḍa narrative, speaking as the creator seeking Śiva’s aid/boon)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
The verse emphasizes that success—worldly or spiritual—becomes firm only through Śiva’s anugraha (grace). From a Śaiva Siddhānta lens, the soul (paśu) cannot achieve its intended goal without the Lord (Pati) bestowing the required power/means.
It points to saguna-upāsanā: the Lord’s “form” is a valid, compassionate support for devotees. Whether approached as Liṅga (symbol of the transcendent) or as a manifest form, Śiva’s presence is the decisive factor that enables fruition.
A practical takeaway is to seek Śiva’s grace through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with bhakti, along with simple Śiva-pūjā (water/abhiṣeka) on Mahāśivarātri or daily—asking for the right inner “form” (qualities) to accomplish dharma.
