याचेन्न विधितो राज्यं स ममेति विशंकितः । अद्यैव गच्छ तत्र त्वं तत्तपोविघ्नमाचर

yācenna vidhito rājyaṃ sa mameti viśaṃkitaḥ | adyaiva gaccha tatra tvaṃ tattapovighnamācara

หากเขาไม่ทูลขอราชอาณาจักรตามแบบพิธี เขาย่อมระแวงว่า ‘อาณาจักรนี้เป็นของเรา’ จงไปที่นั่นเดี๋ยวนี้เอง และก่ออุปสรรคแก่ตบะของเขาเถิด.

The verse highlights that spiritual effort (tapas) is often tested by vighnas (obstacles). In Shaiva understanding, such tests reveal whether one’s intention is aligned with dharma and surrender to the Supreme (Pati), rather than driven by possessiveness and egoic claim—“this is mine.”

Though the verse speaks of tapas and rightful order, its Shaiva implication is that devotion to Saguna Shiva (through Linga worship) steadies the mind when trials arise. Obstacles become occasions to deepen bhakti and detach from ‘mine-ness’ (mamatā), which blocks grace.

The practical takeaway is to continue sadhana without deviation when impediments arise—supporting practice with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and maintaining purity of intent (dharma) rather than anxiety over outcomes like power or status.
