“บัดนี้จงฟังการกระทำที่ผู้นี้ได้ทำไว้ ณ ที่นี้ โอเหล่าคณะคณะ (คณะของพระศิวะ) จงฟังด้วยความตั้งใจถึงสิ่งที่บุตรแห่งยัชญทัตตะได้กระทำ”
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages, in the Purāṇic frame)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Sthala Purana: Episode-specific narrative setup: attention is drawn to a particular human agent (son of Yajñadatta) whose deed will be evaluated in relation to Śiva’s order and its attendants.
Significance: Didactic: stresses śravaṇa (attentive hearing) as a means of dharma-formation and receptivity to Śiva’s grace.
The verse emphasizes śravaṇa (reverent listening) to sacred history, presenting karma as meaningful within Śiva’s cosmic order—an entry point for devotion and right understanding in a Śaiva lens.
Though not directly mentioning the Liṅga, it frames a Gaṇa-centered episode within Saguna Śiva’s divine retinue, where listening to Śiva’s līlā and the deeds of His attendants supports devotion to the manifest Lord.
The implied practice is focused śravaṇa—attentive hearing of Śiva Purāṇa kathā as a devotional discipline, preparing the mind for mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī) and steady worship.
