Suta Goswami (narrating the Rudrasaṃhitā account to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: The promised rise of ‘uttamā buddhi’ through sustained dhārā-pūjā and 10,000 mantra recitations reflects a bhoga-to-yoga trajectory: ritual steadiness purifies karmic accretions and makes the paśu fit for Śiva’s anugraha, yielding awakened discernment (buddhi) rather than mere material gain.
Role: teaching
It teaches that sustained Shiva-upāsanā—especially continuous dhārā worship combined with mantra-japa—refines buddhi into a clearer, living spiritual awareness that supports liberation-oriented devotion.
Dhārā-prapūjā is a classic Saguna Shiva practice: worshipping Shiva as the Linga through uninterrupted abhiṣeka/stream-offering, while mantra-japa internalizes the same worship in the mind.
Perform continuous dhārā (steady abhiṣeka/stream offering) to the Shiva Linga while completing up to 10,000 mantra recitations (japa), maintaining steadiness and purity of intention.
