Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating Śiva-worship procedure to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It teaches ekāgratā (one-pointed devotion): offerings are directed to Śiva alone, and mantra plus flower-offering becomes a disciplined act of bhakti that purifies the devotee and turns the mind toward Pati (Śiva), the liberator.
Although the verse names Pañcāsya (the five-faced form of Śiva), the instruction fits standard Liṅga-pūjā: mantras are recited and flowers are offered to the manifest (saguṇa) form, which serves as a sacred support for realizing Śiva’s supreme reality.
Perform mantra-japa during pūjā and offer flowers afterward as upacāra; practitioners commonly pair this with the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while maintaining reverence for Śiva as the sole recipient of worship in that rite.
