Concise Teaching on Liṅga Worship / Śiva-arcana-vidhi
पठित्वैवं च पुष्पाणि शिवोपरि मुदा न्यसेत् । स्वस्त्ययनं ततः कृत्वा ह्याशिषो विविधास्तथा
paṭhitvaivaṃ ca puṣpāṇi śivopari mudā nyaset | svastyayanaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā hyāśiṣo vividhāstathā
เมื่อสวดมนต์ตามกำหนดแล้ว พึงถวายดอกไม้ด้วยความปีติบนพระศิวะ จากนั้นประกอบพิธีสวัสตยะยะนะ แล้วน้อมถวายพรและคำอธิษฐานมงคลนานาประการ

Significance: Shows the transition from mantra-recitation to offering (nyāsa of flowers) and concluding auspicious rites (svastyayana), framing pūjā as both devotion and welfare-rite.

It teaches that worship must unite mantra (recitation), bhakti (joyful offering), and maṅgala (auspicious benediction), so the devotee’s intention becomes purified and aligned with Śiva as Pati (the Lord who grants grace and well-being).
The instruction to place flowers ‘upon Śiva’ directly supports Saguna worship—honoring Śiva tangibly as the Liṅga or a consecrated form—where devotion is expressed through offerings after mantra-recitation.
A simple pūjā sequence is implied: recite the prescribed mantras, offer flowers to the Śiva-liṅga with joy, then perform svastyayana (prayers for auspiciousness) and conclude with benedictory wishes for welfare and spiritual progress.
