Lord Śiva (instructing Satī, inferred from Satīkhaṇḍa narrative context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
It highlights unwavering saṅkalpa (vowed resolve) guided by Śiva’s instruction—renunciation must be undertaken with clarity, right method, and freedom from doubt, reflecting Shaiva emphasis on disciplined will aligned to Pati (Śiva).
Śiva appears here as Saguna Guru—personally guiding the devotee. In Linga-worship, the same principle applies: one approaches Śiva as the living, instructing Lord who grants right understanding and steadiness (niścaya) in practice.
The verse stresses niścaya (doubtless execution) under Śiva’s guidance; a practical takeaway is steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and surrender of egoic hesitation before undertaking any vrata or intense sādhana.
