Tattva Level: pasha
Cosmic Event: creation/differentiation of beings in the cosmic space (nabhaḥ-sthala)
It highlights that embodied life is not uniform: beings arise with differing desires and karmic imprints. From a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, the pashu (soul) experiences varied births under pasha (bondage), and liberation comes by turning from desire toward Shiva (Pati).
By acknowledging desire-driven differentiation in creation, the verse implicitly points to Saguna Shiva as the compassionate Lord who receives worship and grants purification. Linga-worship and devotion orient the mind away from kāma and toward Shiva, loosening karmic bondage.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids for reducing desire and stabilizing the mind, especially suited for Mahāśivarātri observance.
