संध्याचरित्रवर्णनम् (Sandhyā-caritra-varṇana) — “Account of Sandhyā’s Story”
ब्रह्मोवाच नारदेत्थं वसिष्ठो मे समाज्ञप्तो दयावता । यथाऽस्विति च मां प्रोच्य ययौ संध्यांतिकं मुनिः
brahmovāca nāradetthaṃ vasiṣṭho me samājñapto dayāvatā | yathā'sviti ca māṃ procya yayau saṃdhyāṃtikaṃ muniḥ
พระพรหมตรัสว่า: “โอ้ นารท, วสิษฐะผู้เปี่ยมเมตตาได้กำชับเราดังนี้. ครั้นกล่าวแก่เราว่า ‘ยถาสตุ’ แล้ว ฤษีนั้นก็จากไปเพื่อประกอบพิธีสันธยา.”

It highlights dharmic discipline: even exalted sages prioritize saṃdhyā (twilight worship). In a Shaiva frame, such daily purity and remembrance support devotion that ultimately turns the mind toward Pati (Śiva), the liberator.
Though the verse mentions saṃdhyā rather than the Liṅga directly, it reflects the same principle behind Saguna Śiva-upāsanā: regular, time-bound worship and reverence for sacred rites cultivate steadiness, making one fit for deeper Śiva-bhakti and Liṅga worship.
Performing saṃdhyā-vandana at twilight—recitation of mantras with inner recollection and purity. As a Shaiva takeaway, one may add japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” during saṃdhyā to align daily duty with Śiva-smaraṇa.
