Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; the verse frames yajña-portion (bhāga) and dāna as means to obtain Śiva’s prasāda, echoing the Purāṇic motif that Śiva’s rightful share restores cosmic order.
Significance: General tīrtha-logic: honoring Śiva with his due share and giving dāna to dvijas is said to attract Śiva’s anugraha (grace) and auspicious completion of rites.
Offering: naivedya
The verse teaches that honoring Śiva as the supreme recipient (pūrṇabhāga) and practicing dāna with humility aligns one with dharma, making the heart fit to receive Śiva’s anugraha—His liberating grace.
Assigning Śiva the “full share” reflects acknowledging the Saguna Lord as the accessible focus of worship; in practice this corresponds to offering the best of one’s worship (naivedya, abhiṣeka, mantra-japa) to the Liṅga as Śiva’s manifest presence.
A key takeaway is to combine worship with charity: offer to Śiva first (e.g., Liṅga-abhiṣeka with water/milk and Panchākṣarī japa—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), then perform dāna to worthy recipients, cultivating devotion and purity to invite anugraha.
