FAQs

The verse identifies Shiva as the auspicious bestower and the destroyer of existential suffering, while affirming Him as Brahman (the Supreme) and as Pati—the personal Lord who grants grace and liberation.

By praising Shiva as both Brahman (transcendent) and Ambikāpati/Umāpati (personal, relational), it supports Shaiva practice where the Linga represents the Supreme while devotees approach Him through saguna devotion and stuti.

Use this as a namaskāra-stuti in daily Shiva-puja: recite with Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), offer bilva leaves or water to the Linga, and meditate on Shiva as the remover of ārtī (distress) and giver of śiva (auspiciousness).
