Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it highlights Śiva’s ājñā (command) organizing the cosmic-retinue (gaṇas) for a divine festival.
Significance: Emphasizes śaraṇāgati to Śiva’s command and the ideal of serving in the Lord’s retinue; inspires devotees to participate in utsavas and temple processions as sacred duty.
It highlights Śiva as the supreme Lord (Pati) whose will harmonizes even mighty forces; the gaṇas’ joyful obedience models disciplined devotion where power is sanctified by divine command.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva as the personal Lord who commands and guides; such lordship is central to Linga worship, where devotees approach Śiva as the accessible, directive, grace-giving Presence.
Adopt an “utsava-bhāva” in worship—serve with gladness and reverence; practically, chant the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with disciplined obedience to dharma, as if following Śiva’s ājñā.
