Viṣṇu’s Hymn and the Petition for Śiva–Satī’s Protection
viṣṇuruvāca | na brahmā bhavato bhinno na tvaṃ tasmātsadāśiva | na vāhaṃ bhavato bhinno na mattvaṃ parameśvara
Vishnu
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It teaches that sectarian separation is ultimately false: the divine functions associated with Brahmā and Viṣṇu rest in the one Parameśvara, Sadāśiva, who is the inner reality and sovereign Lord.
Linga worship centers on Sadāśiva as the supreme, all-pervading Lord; this verse supports seeing all divine forms and cosmic roles as grounded in Shiva, making Saguna Shiva devotion a doorway to realizing the one supreme reality.
Practice one-pointed japa of the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—while contemplating that the same Parameśvara shines through all divine names and forms, dissolving feelings of difference.
