Viṣṇu’s Hymn and the Petition for Śiva–Satī’s Protection
yo'haṃ śaṃbhuṃ mohayituṃ puraicchaṃ kapaṭena ha | māṃ ca taṃ śaṃkarastāta mohayāmāsa līlayā
Sati (narrating her realization to Shiva/inner circle within the Sati-khanda context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It teaches that Shiva (Pati) alone governs māyā: even one who tries to delude Him becomes deluded, revealing that liberation comes not by cleverness but by humility and Shiva’s grace.
Shiva’s ‘līlā’ shows His compassionate, saguna engagement with devotees and beings; Linga-worship centers the mind on that supreme Lord who dispels delusion and grants right understanding.
A practical takeaway is daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a vow of truthfulness and humility, optionally accompanied by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as a reminder to renounce deception and ego.
