Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: liberating
It shows Satī’s single-pointed bhakti: even in ordinary social life she repeatedly returns to Śiva in thought and expression. In Śaiva Siddhānta terms, such steady remembrance purifies the bound soul (paśu) and loosens the bonds (pāśa) by turning the mind toward Pati, Lord Śiva.
Drawing Śiva’s ‘pratimā’ reflects saguna-upāsanā—devotion through a form that the mind can hold. This supports the same principle as Liṅga worship: a tangible focus that gathers attention, deepens reverence, and matures into inner contemplation of Śiva’s presence.
A practical takeaway is japa and smaraṇa with a visual support: keep a Śiva image or Liṅga as a focus, repeat “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and return to that remembrance repeatedly throughout the day—like Satī’s constant re-drawing of Bharga.
