Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Purāṇic account to the sages, summarizing the auspiciousness of Girijā’s intended marriage)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
The verse emphasizes that Girijā’s marriage is not a merely social event but an auspicious, joy-bestowing divine arrangement—hinting at the sacred harmony of Pati (Śiva) and Śakti that supports dharma and inner well-being.
By praising the ‘auspicious bridegroom’ for Girijā, the narrative points to Saguna Śiva—Śiva who graciously participates in divine līlā for devotees. Such episodes strengthen devotion that often culminates in Linga worship as the accessible, sanctified form of Śiva.
The practical takeaway is to cultivate auspiciousness through bhakti and purity—commonly expressed in Shaiva practice by daily Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and reverent worship of Śiva with simple offerings.
