Satī (addressing Lord Śiva as Kāleśa)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
Satī expresses śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) in Śiva as Kāleśa, showing that true security is not in time-bound circumstances but in abiding dependence on Pati (the Lord). The “no separation” theme points to unwavering devotion and the soul’s longing to remain near Śiva.
By addressing Śiva personally as Kāleśa and seeking continual closeness, the verse supports Saguna-bhakti—relating to Śiva as the living Lord who can be approached, loved, and relied upon. In Linga worship, this becomes the practice of constant remembrance and intimate devotion before the Linga as Śiva’s merciful presence.
The takeaway is continuous remembrance of Śiva through japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and daily pūjā with a steady heart. Meditatively, it suggests dwelling in Śiva’s presence (bhāva) so that the mind does not fall into “separation” (forgetfulness).
