किमर्थन्तु भवन्तश्च सर्वे देवाः प्रपञ्चिताः । रूपमस्याः परन्नाम व्यर्थीकर्तुं समुद्यतः
kimarthantu bhavantaśca sarve devāḥ prapañcitāḥ | rūpamasyāḥ parannāma vyarthīkartuṃ samudyataḥ
โอ้เหล่าเทพทั้งหลาย ท่านทั้งปวงมาที่นี่ด้วยความเอิกเกริกและอื้ออึงเพื่อสิ่งใดกัน? หรือท่านมุ่งจะทำให้ความงามอันสูงสุดและพระนามอันประเสริฐของพระเทวีนี้ไร้ความหมาย?

Pārvatī challenges outward spectacle and ego-driven intervention, affirming that the divine rūpa (manifest form) and nāma (sacred name/glory) are supreme and should not be undermined; in Shaiva thought, true devotion protects the sanctity of the Divine as both transcendent and immanent.
It underscores reverence for sacred manifestation: just as the Liṅga is a holy focus for Saguna worship while pointing to the Supreme beyond form, the Goddess’s form and name are not to be treated as ordinary or obstructed by worldly display; worship should be aligned with humility and dharma, not prapañca (mere show).
A practical takeaway is nāma-japa with humility—especially the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—along with steady devotional contemplation of the Divine form, avoiding performative religiosity and cultivating inner purity (optionally supported by Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa as aids to remembrance).
