Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Significance: Darśana and stuti of Hara as Pati is framed as a direct approach for removal of pāśa (bondage) and duḥkha; the devas model śaraṇāgati (refuge) as the doorway to anugraha.
Type: stotra
It presents the Shaiva Siddhanta mood of approach to Pati (Śiva): humility (nata-mastaka), surrender (praṇāma), and devotion (stuti). Such reverent turning toward Śiva is shown as the doorway by which His grace removes pāśa (bondage).
The verse highlights Saguna-upāsanā—meeting Śiva through visible presence (darśana) and responding with añjali and praise. The same devotional posture applies in Liṅga worship: approaching the manifest symbol of Śiva with reverence and stotra to invoke His anugraha (grace).
Perform darśana with namaskāra and añjali, then offer stuti or japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) in a bowed, surrendered state—treating Śiva as Hara, the remover of inner sorrow and bondage.
