Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman
hitvaitatsthalamadyeva yāsyāmo'nyatra mā ciram | yathā saṃbhāṣaṇaṃ na syādanenā'viduṣā punaḥ
Parvati (inferred, within the Parvati Khanda narrative as dialogue concerning avoiding unwise company)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse emphasizes viveka (discernment): spiritual progress in Shaiva dharma is protected by avoiding repeated engagement with ignorance, which distracts the mind from devotion to Pati (Shiva) and steadiness in sadhana.
Linga/Saguna-Shiva worship requires inner purity and focused bhakti; avoiding fruitless arguments with the ignorant supports ekāgratā (one-pointedness) so the devotee’s attention stays on Shiva’s form, mantra, and worship rather than agitation.
Choose satsanga and maintain japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a practical substitute for unhelpful debate; keep the mind calm for dhyana and daily puja.
