It teaches that Shiva’s supreme freedom expresses itself as grace: He willingly becomes ‘dependent’ on devotion, showing that bhakti can draw the Lord’s anugraha and transform destiny beyond ordinary limits.
In Saguna worship—especially Linga-upasana—Shiva accepts offerings and prayers as a personal Lord who responds to love; this verse highlights that the Linga is not merely symbolic but a living locus of Shiva’s responsive grace to devotees.
Steady bhakti with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple Linga-puja; the takeaway is sincerity and surrender—more than complexity—supported by regular worship (optionally with bhasma and rudraksha).
