गिरिजाया तपोऽनुज्ञा

Permission for Girijā’s Austerities

ततः पर्णान्यपि शिवा निरस्य हिमवत्सुता । निराहाराभवद्देवी तपश्चरणसंरता

tataḥ parṇānyapi śivā nirasya himavatsutā | nirāhārābhavaddevī tapaścaraṇasaṃratā

ต่อมา พระศิวา ผู้เป็นธิดาแห่งหิมวาน ทรงละแม้กระทั่งใบไม้เป็นอาหาร. เทวีทรงเป็นผู้ถืออดอาหารโดยสิ้นเชิง มั่นคงในจริยาตบะ และตั้งจิตแน่วแน่เพื่อบรรลุพระศิวะ.
