Pārvatī’s Fear and Himavān’s Consolation
धिक्स्वरूपं मदीयं च तथा जन्म च कर्म च । इति ब्रुवंती सततं स्मरंती हरचेष्टितम्
dhiksvarūpaṃ madīyaṃ ca tathā janma ca karma ca | iti bruvaṃtī satataṃ smaraṃtī haraceṣṭitam
“ช่างน่ารังเกียจรูปของข้า ทั้งชาติกำเนิดและการกระทำของข้าด้วย!”—นางกล่าวซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า และระลึกถึงการกระทำกับพระประสงค์ของหระ (พระศิวะ) อยู่เนืองนิตย์।

It shows Parvati’s turning away from ego-based identity—body, birth, and personal doership—and her steady Shiva-smarana. In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, loosening pasha (bondage) begins with dispassion and focused remembrance of Pati (Shiva).
Her remembrance of “Hara” reflects saguna-upasana—holding Shiva’s name, qualities, and divine activity in mind. Such sustained bhakti naturally supports Linga worship by stabilizing attention and purifying intention toward Shiva as the liberating Lord.
Constant smarana can be practiced as japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a simple vow of detachment from ‘I’ and ‘mine’; on Mahashivratri, this is strengthened by night-long japa, vibhuti (tripundra) remembrance, and inward offering of actions to Shiva.
