नारद उवाच । विधे प्राज्ञ वदेदानीं मेनोत्पत्तिं समादरात् । अपि शापं समाचक्ष्व कुरु संदेहभंजनम्
nārada uvāca | vidhe prājña vadedānīṃ menotpattiṃ samādarāt | api śāpaṃ samācakṣva kuru saṃdehabhaṃjanam
นารทกล่าวว่า “โอ้พระวิธาตฤ (พระพรหม) ผู้ทรงปัญญา บัดนี้โปรดเล่าด้วยความเคารพถึงกำเนิดของเมนา และโปรดอธิบายเรื่องคำสาปนั้น เพื่อทำลายความสงสัยของข้าพเจ้าเถิด”
