Indra
prastutaṃ śṛṇu madvākyaṃ kathayāmi tavāgrataḥ | madīyaṃ caiva yatkāryaṃ tvadīyaṃ tanna cānyathā
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: teaching
It teaches concord and non-division in divine purpose: in Shaiva understanding, Shiva’s will and Shakti’s participation operate in perfect harmony, guiding devotees toward dharma and inner unity.
Saguna Shiva is worshipped as the compassionate Lord who speaks and guides; this verse reflects his grace-filled instruction, encouraging the devotee to align personal duty with Shiva’s intent—an attitude central to Linga worship and service.
Adopt sankalpa (intent) before worship: while offering bilva leaves or doing japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” contemplate that one’s actions are offered to Shiva and aligned with his divine purpose.
