Himagiri Presents Kālī (Pārvatī) to Śiva
himagiriruvāca | bhagavaṃstanayā me tvāṃ sevituṃ candraśekharam | samutsukā samānītā tvadārādhanakāṃkṣayā
Himagiri (Himalaya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It presents pure bhakti as an inner compulsion: Parvati’s eagerness to serve and worship Shiva shows the soul’s turning toward Pati (the Lord) as the liberating refuge, a central Shaiva Siddhanta orientation.
The verse emphasizes saguna-upasana—approaching Shiva as Candraśekhara with loving service. Such devotion naturally expresses itself through Shiva-ārādhana, commonly performed through Linga worship with mantra, offerings, and reverent attendance.
The takeaway is Shiva-ārādhana with sevā-bhāva: daily worship of Shiva (often the Linga) while repeating the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” supported by simple disciplines like vibhuti (tripuṇḍra) and rudrāksha where appropriate.
