Kṛttikās (the divine mothers/nurses of Kumāra), speaking in distress within the Kumārakhaṇḍa narrative as recounted by Sūta to the sages
Tattva Level: pashu
Role: nurturing
It highlights dharma-bound love: even divine caretakers who nurture with deep affection must ultimately submit to cosmic order, expressing humility and seeking right guidance rather than acting from attachment alone.
The verse reflects dependence on Saguna Shiva’s will in lived relationships—devotees learn that all bonds are upheld by Shiva as Pati, and the proper response to uncertainty is surrender and prayer for direction.
In moments of confusion, Shaiva practice emphasizes surrender through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and prayerful seeking of Shiva’s guidance, rather than impulsive action driven by attachment.
