dhanyosi kṛtakṛtyosi pūrvapūjyo bhavādhunā | sarveṣāmamarāṇāṃ vai sarvadā duḥkhavarjitaḥ
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
The verse highlights Shiva’s anugraha (grace): when duty is fulfilled in alignment with dharma and devotion, Shiva grants spiritual auspiciousness—honor, precedence in worship, and lasting freedom from sorrow.
As Saguna Shiva, the Lord personally bestows boons and establishes worship-order (pūrvapūjā). In Linga-worship too, devotees seek this same grace—Shiva’s sanction that removes duḥkha and confirms spiritual accomplishment.
A practical takeaway is to begin worship with Shiva’s remembrance and Panchākṣarī-japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), seeking the removal of duḥkha; then proceed with orderly pūjā, offering devotion with humility and gratitude for fulfilled duty.
