Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
It highlights Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) whose will governs even devas and sages; spiritual maturity is shown by aligning one’s actions with Shiva’s ājñā (command), the Shaiva Siddhanta ideal of surrender that loosens pāśa (bondage).
Though the verse is narrative, it reinforces Saguna Shiva’s lordship—Shiva as the personal, commanding deity who directs cosmic order; Linga-worship similarly trains the devotee to accept Shiva as the supreme authority and refuge.
A practical takeaway is ājñā-anusandhāna (mindful obedience): during japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” resolve to act in harmony with dharma as Shiva’s command; optionally seal the vow with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and daily Shiva-namaskāra.
