Lord Shiva (inferred as commanding his Gaṇas within the Kumārakhaṇḍa narrative)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
It emphasizes śaraṇāgati (surrender) and disciplined obedience to Śiva’s will: even well-intended action must be restrained when it violates the Lord’s command, showing that true bhakti is guided by dharma and divine injunction.
In Saguna worship, the temple is a regulated sacred domain where Śiva is approached through prescribed conduct; the verse highlights that access to the Lord’s sanctum is not merely emotional desire but must align with Śiva’s own instruction and ritual propriety.
The takeaway is restraint and reverent listening (śravaṇa) as practice—pausing action, remembering Śiva’s ājñā, and inwardly repeating the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to stabilize humility before undertaking any temple-related act.
