Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating the Kumārakhaṇḍa account to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: liberating
It presents Parameśvara as the compassionate Pati who removes vipad (calamity) by destroying adharma; philosophically, the ‘demon’ also signifies inner bondage and pride that are cut down by Shiva’s grace.
The verse praises Shiva in a personal (saguṇa) mode—Vibhu and Parameśvara—highlighting that devotees approach the Linga as the living refuge whose grace protects the cosmos and restores order.
Take refuge in Shiva during संकट (crisis) through japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” along with simple Linga-pūjā (water/abhisheka) as a prayer for removal of obstacles and fear.
