Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: Highlights mānasa-smaraṇa (inner recollection) of Śaṅkara as a portable pilgrimage: the devotee carries the tīrtha within through remembrance and devotion.
It highlights Shiva-smaraṇa—remembering Śiva inwardly even during ordinary actions—showing that devotion is not limited to ritual but can pervade speech and relationships, aligning the mind toward Pati (Śiva) for liberation.
Though no external worship is described, the verse emphasizes internal Saguna contemplation of Śaṅkara; such mental remembrance supports Linga-worship by making the devotee’s mind steady, reverent, and continuously connected to Śiva’s auspicious presence.
A simple practice is mānasa-japa (mental repetition) and smaraṇa of Śiva—such as inwardly repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—while engaging in daily duties, cultivating continuous bhakti.
