Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga account; the ‘tejorāśi’ (mass of radiance) motif evokes liṅga/tejas-theophany themes but remains within this chapter’s manifestation narrative.
Significance: Models darśana: beholding the Lord as ‘tejas’ and responding with namaskāra and stuti—core devotional praxis.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta mood of śaraṇāgati (surrender): when Śiva reveals Himself as divine radiance, the right response is humble prostration and heartfelt stuti, which purifies the soul and turns awareness toward Pati (the Lord).
The phrase “arisen from a mass of light” echoes the Jyotir (radiant) presence associated with Jyotirliṅga traditions, while “in the described form” affirms Saguna upāsanā—devotion to Śiva’s revealed, approachable form that leads the devotee toward the transcendent.
Practice namaskāra (prostration), then steady dhyāna on Śiva as inner light (tejas), followed by stotra-japa—ideally with the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” optionally accompanied by vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as supports to devotion.
