Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: The king’s making of a pārthiva-mūrti (earthen form) is a classic purāṇic upāsanā motif: when temple access and resources are lost, devotion creates its own locus; Śiva responds through grace rather than through place-bound sanctity.
Significance: Affirms the efficacy of simple, sincere worship (pārthiva-liṅga/mūrti) even in confinement; emphasizes bhakti as the doorway to anugraha.
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It highlights that sincere bhakti can begin with simple means—forming an earthen sacred form and turning the heart exclusively toward Śiva, the Pati who grants both worldly aims and liberation.
By making a pārthiva-mūrti (often understood in Shaiva practice as a temporary earthen liṅga or icon), the devotee approaches Nirguṇa Śiva through a Saguna support, focusing devotion on Śiva alone.
Perform simple Śiva-pūjā with a made earthen form—offer water and reverent worship, and sustain single-pointed bhajana, ideally accompanied by the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
