Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not a site-specific māhātmya: it is a sweeping ontological claim—everything perceived, described, or remembered is Śiva’s form; nothing exists apart from Him. This provides the metaphysical basis for seeing every kṣetra and every liṅga as a doorway to the same Supreme.
Significance: Encourages ‘sarva-darśana-śivatva’: the pilgrim learns to recognize Śiva in all experiences; pilgrimage becomes both outer journey and inner re-cognition.
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It trains the devotee to recognize Śiva as the inner reality of all experience—seen, spoken of, or remembered—so that perception itself becomes Shiva-oriented and leads toward liberation through Shiva-consciousness.
If all that is perceived is of Śiva’s nature, then the Liṅga (a sacred, visible focus) becomes a disciplined doorway for the mind to approach the all-pervading Śiva—moving from saguna worship (form-based) toward realization of His all-encompassing presence.
Practice Shiva-smaraṇa (constant remembrance) by mentally offering every sight and thought to Śiva, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and, where traditional, wearing Rudrākṣa and applying Tripuṇḍra as reminders of Shiva-pervasion.
