Agni as the sustaining and protecting sacrificial fire who grants prosperity and defends the rite
प्र भूर्जयन्तं महां विपोधां मूरैरमूरं पुरां दर्माणम् नयन्तं गीर्भिर्वना धियं धा हरिश्मश्रुं न वार्मणा धनर्चिम्

เราสรรเสริญผู้ชำระให้บริสุทธิ์อันยิ่งใหญ่ ผู้ปลุกให้ตื่น ผู้ไม่หลงในท่ามกลางความหลง ผู้สถาปนาป้อมปราการและที่พำนักอันมั่นคง ผู้ก้าวไปโดยบทสรรเสริญนำทาง. โอ อัคนี โปรดตั้งไว้ในเรา “ธิ” (dhī) คือความคิดที่เหมาะแก่ยัญพิธี; เปลวของท่านคือแสงแห่งทรัพย์ ดุจผู้มีเคราสีทองสวมเกราะ.
