Agni kindled with radiant flames as the guardian of ṛta (right-ordered sacrifice) and giver of strengthening wealth
त्वमित्सप्रथा अस्यग्ने त्रातरृतः कविः त्वां विप्रासः समिधान दीदिव आ विवासन्ति वेधसः

tvám ít sa-prathā́ḥ asyágne trātár ṛtáḥ kavíḥ | tvā́ṃ viprā́saḥ samidhānā́ dī́divaḥ ā́ vivāsanti vedhásaḥ ||
แท้จริงแล้ว ท่านนั่นเอง อัคนีเอ๋ย ผู้เลื่องลือกว้างไกลในพิธีนี้; ท่านคือผู้พิทักษ์แห่งฤตะ (ṛta ระเบียบศักดิ์สิทธิ์) คือกวีผู้รู้แจ้ง. ท่านผู้ส่องประกาย พราหมณ์ผู้สวดทั้งหลายจุดท่านด้วยฟืน แล้วบูชาและนอบน้อม—เขาเหล่านั้นคือผู้จัดวางพิธีอันทรงปัญญา
