śnáthad vṛtrám utá sanóti vā́jam indrā́ yó agnī́ sahúrī saparyā́t | irajyántā vasavyásya bhū́reḥ sáhas-tamā sáhasā vāja-yántā ||

เขาทำลายวฤตระ (Vṛtra) และได้มาซึ่ง vāja (ความอุดมแห่งพลังชัยชนะ)—คืออินทระผู้สถิตร่วมกับอัคนี; สองผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ซึ่งควรได้รับการบูชาโดยชอบธรรม. ทั้งสองเพียรแสวงหาความดีอันไพบูลย์ แข็งแกร่งที่สุดในบรรดาพลังทั้งหลาย และด้วยพลังนั้นทำให้กำลังแห่งชัยชนะงอกงามภายในเรา.
