द्युभिर्हितं मित्रमिव प्रयोगं प्रत्नमृत्विजमध्वरस्य जारम् । बाहुभ्यामग्निमायवोऽजनन्त विक्षु होतारं न्यसादयन्त ॥

dyúbhir hitáṃ mitrám iva práyogaṃ pratnám ṛtvíjam adhvarásya jārám | bāhúbhyām agním ā́yavo 'jananta víkṣu hótāraṃ ny àsādayanta ||

เขาถูกตั้งไว้ท่ามกลางแสงสว่างแห่งสวรรค์ ดุจมิตร (มิตระ) ผู้เป็นสหายในยามออกเดินหน้า; เป็นปุโรหิตโบราณ (ṛtvij) แห่งพิธี (adhvara) ผู้เป็นที่รักของการบูชา—อัคนี (Agni). ชนเผ่าอายุ (Āyava) ให้กำเนิดเขาด้วยสองแขน และให้โหตฤ (Hotṛ) ประทับท่ามกลางหมู่ชนและตระกูลทั้งหลาย.
