Kumbhakarna’s Departure for Battle
एवंतस्यब्रुवाणस्यकुम्भकर्णस्यराक्षसाः ।नादंचक्रुर्महाघोरंकम्पयन्तइवार्णवम् ।।।।
evaṃ tasya bruvāṇasya kumbhakarṇasya rākṣasāḥ |
nādaṃ cakrur mahāghoraṃ kampayanta ivārṇavam ||6.65.46||
เมื่อกุมภกรรณกล่าวเช่นนั้น เหล่ารากษสก็คำรามกึกก้องน่าสะพรึงกลัว ราวกับว่าพวกมันกำลังทำให้มหาสมุทรสั่นสะเทือน
As wise Kumbhakarna was proceeding swiftly , dreadful portents appeared.
Collective emotion can amplify adharma: the roar symbolizes mass approval of violence. The Ramāyaṇa warns that popular acclaim does not validate unrighteous intent; dharma is not determined by noise or numbers.
The rākṣasa troops respond to Kumbhakarṇa’s declaration with a terrifying war-cry.
Group solidarity and morale (a military strength), yet ethically neutral and potentially dangerous when yoked to adharma.
