कुम्भकर्णोपदेशः
Kumbhakarna’s Counsel and War-Boast to Ravana
नैतन्मनसिकर्तव्यंमयिजीवतिपार्थिव ।तमहंनाशयिष्यामियत्कृतेपरितप्यते ।।6.63.32।।
naitan manasi kartavyaṃ mayi jīvati pārthiva |
tam ahaṃ nāśayiṣyāmi yatkṛte paritapyate || 6.63.32 ||
ตราบใดที่ข้ายังมีชีวิตอยู่ ข้าแต่พระราชา อย่าให้เรื่องนี้ถ่วงหนักอยู่ในพระทัยเลย ผู้ใดเป็นเหตุให้พระองค์ระทมทุกข์ ข้าจะทำลายผู้นั้นเสีย
"Listen to my words, Rakshasa king! You are a scourge of enemies. Put aside this sorrow. Give up the agony also. Be normal. You ought to be your normal self again."
It highlights the protective duty within kinship: offering reassurance and taking responsibility to remove the cause of distress (though the wider epic questions whether such aid aligns with dharma).
Kumbhakarṇa promises Rāvaṇa that he will personally eliminate the source of his agitation in the war.
