तंदृष्टवानिहतंभूमौराक्षसेन्द्रमकम्पनम् ।व्यथिताराक्षसास्सर्वेक्षितिकम्पइवद्रुमाः ।।6.56.31।।
taṃ dṛṣṭvā nihataṃ bhūmau rākṣasendram akampanam |
vyathitā rākṣasāḥ sarve kṣitikampa iva drumāḥ ||6.56.31||
ครั้นเห็นอคัมปนะ จอมแห่งยักษ์ทั้งหลาย ถูกสังหารนอนแน่นิ่งบนพื้นดิน ยักษ์ทั้งปวงก็สะท้านหวั่นไหวด้วยความทุกข์ ดุจหมู่ไม้สั่นระริกเมื่อแผ่นดินไหว
Seeing Akampana lying dead on the ground, the Rakshasas were shaken like the trees in the earthquake and were distressed.
Adharma breeds instability: when leadership grounded in violence collapses, fear spreads quickly. The narrative implies that moral legitimacy (dharma) gives steadiness that mere power cannot.
Akampana’s death demoralizes the rakshasa forces, who react with collective shock and fear.
On the vanara side, steadfast courage; on the rakshasa side, the fragility of morale when a feared leader falls.
