मारीचकुम्भकर्णाभ्यांवाक्यंममपितुस्तथा ।न श्रुतंवीर्यमत्तेनतस्येदंफलमीदृशम् ।।।।

Transliteration

mārīca-kumbhakarṇābhyāṁ vākyaṁ mama pituś tathā | na śrutaṁ vīrya-mattena tasyedaṁ phalam īdṛśam ||

Translation

ท่านมิได้สดับถ้อยคำของมาริจะและกุมภกรรณะ ทั้งมิได้ฟังคำตักเตือนของบิดาข้าพเจ้าเช่นกัน ด้วยความหลงระเริงในฤทธิ์เดชของตน ท่านจึงเมินเฉย—และนี่คือผลเช่นนี้เอง
