Lament of the Rākṣasa Women upon Seeing Rāvaṇa Slain
असुरेभ्यःसुरेभ्योवापन्नगेभ्योऽपिवातथा ।भयंयो न विजानातितस्येदंमानुषाद् भयम् ।।।।
asurebhyaḥ surebhyo vā pannagebhyo 'pi vā tathā |
bhayaṃ yo na vijānāti tasyedaṃ mānuṣād bhayam ||6.113.14||
ผู้ซึ่งไม่เคยรู้จักความหวาดกลัว ไม่ว่าแก่พวกอสูร แก่เหล่าเทพ หรือแม้แก่เผ่านาค—บัดนี้กลับประสบความหวาดกลัวจากมนุษย์ผู้หนึ่งเท่านั้น
"He, who did not know fear from Asuras or Uragas, experienced fear from a mortal."
Arrogance that ignores moral law leads to downfall; dharma can operate through seemingly ordinary instruments, and truth prevails even when embodied in a ‘mere human’.
The mourners reflect on the reversal of fortune: the once-fearless Rāvaṇa is brought to fear and destruction by Rāma.
Rāma’s moral authority and disciplined courage—human yet aligned with dharma—are underscored as stronger than demonic intimidation.
