The Fierce Chariot-Duel of Rama and Ravana
तेषामसम्भ्रमंदृष्टवावाजिनांरावणस्तदा ।।6.109.16।।भूयएवसुसङ्क्रुद्धश्शरवर्षंमुमोच ह ।
teṣām asambhramaṃ dṛṣṭvā vājināṃ rāvaṇas tadā |
bhūya eva susaṅkruddhaḥ śara-varṣaṃ mumoca ha ||6.109.16||
ครั้นเห็นม้าเหล่านั้นยังคงไม่หวั่นไหว ทศกัณฐ์ก็ยิ่งเดือดดาล แล้วปล่อยห่าศรอันหนาแน่นออกมาอีกครั้ง
Ravana used maces, iron bars, discuses, clubs, mountain peaks, trees and also tridents and axes.
Unchecked anger escalates harm. Dharma teaches that failure to accept reality with composure leads to repeated, worsening violence.
Rāvaṇa reacts to the failure of his attack by increasing the intensity of his arrow volleys.
The implied virtue is kṣamā and self-restraint—shown by its absence in Rāvaṇa’s escalating fury.
