The son of Maruta, who was as eminent as the Windgod, the crusher of enemies ascended the great mountain Mahendra, full of grassland inhabited by deer, thickly grown with various trees and creepers full of fragrant flowers and fruits, where roam lions and tigers and proud elephants, a place that echoes with sounds of intoxicated birds and waterfalls.
His steadfast resolve in service (sevā-niṣṭhā): he overcomes obstacles without self-indulgence, using strength for a righteous mission rather than for display.
Hanumān’s movement toward Mahendra forms part of a truthful, goal-directed search and duty-bound action—his conduct aligns with the truthful intent of fulfilling Rāma’s purpose through disciplined effort.
